Whole-Home Rewiring in Cleburne, TX

Old wiring hides behind finished walls, so replacing it means working inside your home for days. We plan the route, cover floors and furniture, and clean up before we leave each afternoon. You get safe, grounded circuits and a house that still feels like yours while we work.

When Rewiring Is the Right Call

Wiring doesn't last forever. Insulation dries out and cracks, connections loosen, and circuits sized for a few lamps and a radio now carry microwaves, computers and window units. When the problems are scattered across the house instead of in one room, chasing them one at a time usually costs more than replacing the system.

We'll tell you honestly which situation you're in. Sometimes a few bad circuits can be handled as electrical repair, and we'll say so. When a full rewire makes sense for a Cleburne home, we lay out the plan room by room before anyone cuts a hole.

Every rewire is done under our Master Electrical License, and we work as a licensed electrical contractor, TECL 36609.

What a Rewire Includes

A full wiring assessment
We open covers, test circuits and look in the attic and crawlspace to see what you actually have. You get photos of what we found and a written plan.
New grounded circuits
Old runs are replaced with modern copper cable sized for how you use each room today. Anywhere code asks for a separate circuit, such as kitchen counters, bathrooms or the washer, we run one.
Devices and fixtures reconnected
New outlets and switches go in, including GFCI and AFCI protection where required. Your existing light fixtures are reconnected, or we can talk through new ones on our Lighting Installation page.
A look at your panel
New wiring needs a panel that can protect it. If yours is undersized or worn out, we'll explain why and include a panel upgrade in the estimate rather than surprise you later.
Small openings, patched
We fish cable through walls from the attic and below whenever we can, so openings stay small. We close the holes we make and tell you up front what finish touch-up remains.
Protection and daily cleanup
Drop cloths, floor runners and plastic sheeting over doorways keep dust contained. Before we leave each day, we vacuum, put furniture back and restore power to the rooms you need.

Signs Your Home May Need Rewiring

  • Two-prong outlets throughout

Ungrounded outlets mean the circuits behind them often have no ground wire at all. Adapters hide the problem but don't fix it.

  • Cloth or rubber-covered wire

Older insulation turns brittle with age and attic heat. Once it cracks, bare conductors can touch framing or each other.

  • Aluminum branch wiring

A number of houses built in that mid-century building boom have aluminum wire feeding the outlets and lights. The metal swells and shrinks as it heats and cools, which works terminals loose and can leave switches and receptacles running hot.

  • Warm outlets or flickering lights

A faceplate that feels warm, a faint burning smell or lights that dim when something kicks on point to loose or overloaded connections.

  • Breakers that trip with normal use

If running the vacuum and the microwave at once shuts things off, your circuits were likely laid out for far less load.

  • A flag from an inspector or insurer

If a home inspection or insurance review called out your wiring, we can look at the report with you. Smaller items may fit our Code Corrections & Inspection Fixes service instead.

How a Rewire Runs, Day by Day

  1. 1

    Walkthrough and written estimate

We walk every room with you, test the existing circuits and check access in the attic and crawlspace. You get a line-item estimate and a room-by-room schedule.

  2. 2

    Permit and planning

We pull the permit as required by your local jurisdiction and plan the order of rooms so your kitchen and one bathroom stay usable as much as possible.

  3. 3

    Protect, wire, clean up

Each morning we lay floor runners and drop cloths and seal off the work area. Each afternoon we vacuum, clear our tools and get power back to the rooms you'll use that night.

  4. 4

    Rough-in inspection and patching

Once new cable is in place, the inspector checks it before walls are closed. Then we patch our openings and install the new devices.

  5. 5

    Final inspection and walkthrough

After the final inspection, we walk the house with you, label the panel and show you what changed. Our work is backed by a 1-year workmanship warranty.

What Shapes the Cost of a Rewire

No two rewires are priced the same, because no two houses hide their wiring the same way. We build your estimate from what we see on the walkthrough, line by line. Should a wall reveal something we couldn't see beforehand, we pause, point it out to you and agree on any change before the extra work begins.

Size and layout
Square footage, the number of rooms and the count of outlets, switches and fixtures set most of the labor.
Access to walls and ceilings
An open attic and a crawlspace make fishing cable easier. Slab foundations, low-slope roofs and plaster walls take more time.
Panel condition
If your panel can't safely carry the new circuits, a replacement or upgrade becomes part of the job.
Wall repair and finish
How many openings we need, and how much patching you want us to handle, affects the total.
Permits and added circuits
Permit fees vary by jurisdiction, and adding new circuits for things like a workshop or future EV charger adds material and time.

Rewiring Questions We Hear Often

Something not covered here? (682) 281-9399

Can we stay in the house while you rewire?

Most families do. We work room by room and restore power to the areas you need before we leave each day. Expect some noise and short power interruptions while we're there, but you won't come home to a mess.

How long does a whole-home rewire take?

It depends on the size of the house and how easy the walls are to reach. Many homes take several working days, and larger or harder-to-access homes take longer, plus time for inspections. Your estimate includes a realistic schedule.

How much of my walls will you open up?

As little as we can. We route cable through the attic and crawlspace and cut small openings only where a wire has to pass a top or bottom plate. We patch what we open, and we'll tell you ahead of time what paint touch-up is left.

Do you pull the permit?

Yes. We handle the permit and schedule the inspections required by your local jurisdiction, and we're there to meet the inspector.

Does a rewire mean replacing my panel as well?

Sometimes, but it isn't automatic. A panel with open spaces and sound parts can stay right where it is. When one is too small, outdated or damaged, we tell you the reason and list the upgrade as its own line item, so you can see exactly what it adds.

What warranty comes with the work?

Our rewiring comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty. If something we installed isn't right, we come back and fix it.
