Torque & Cleans for Cleburne Electrical Panels

The screws and lugs inside your electrical panel can work loose over years of heating and cooling. We tighten every connection to the manufacturer's specs, vacuum out dust and debris, and look for early trouble. Drop cloths go down first, and the area around your panel looks the way we found it.

What Panel Torque Service Does for Your Home

Breakers, neutrals and grounds all land on a terminal that was tightened down when the panel went in. Heavy loads warm the copper and aluminum, and cooling shrinks it back. After enough of those cycles, a terminal can loosen slightly. A loose terminal builds resistance and heat, and that's what leaves the dark, discolored spots we watch for.

This is preventive work. We shut the panel off, check each termination with a calibrated torque tool, and remove the dust, insect nests and grime that collect inside, particularly in outdoor panels that bake through long Texas summers. It suits older panels, homes where nobody has opened the panel in years, and anyone who'd like a careful look before a problem shows up.

What's Included in the Visit

Every termination torqued to spec
We tighten breaker screws, neutral and ground bar connections, and main lugs to the values printed on your panel's label. Loose connections are the ones that run hot.
Dust removal that stays contained
We vacuum debris out of the enclosure rather than blowing it onto your garage floor or across your siding. Then we wipe down the interior and the cover.
Visual inspection of breakers and wiring
We look for heat marks, melted insulation, corrosion, double-tapped breakers and aluminum wiring that needs attention. You get photos of anything worth discussing.
Outdoor panel and meter area check
For exterior equipment, we check seals, knockouts and the cover for gaps that let in water, dust and wasps.
A plain written summary
Before we leave, we walk you through what we tightened, what we removed and anything we'd keep an eye on. If something needs repair, you'll know what and why, with no pressure to decide that day.

Signs It's Time to Have Your Panel Serviced

  • Warmth at the panel door

Your panel should feel about the same temperature as the wall around it. If the door, or a single breaker, feels warm to the touch, a connection may be loose or carrying too much.

  • Lights flicker when big appliances start

A brief dip is normal. Repeated flickering when the AC or dryer kicks on can mean a connection is loose somewhere between the meter and the breaker.

  • A faint buzz or burning smell near the panel

Buzzing or a hot plastic smell is worth checking soon. Leave the panel closed and book a visit so we can open it safely.

  • Nobody has looked inside in years

If you've lived in your home a long time and the panel cover has never come off, this service is a sensible first step.

  • Dust, rust or bugs around an outdoor panel

Mud daubers and fine dust find their way into exterior enclosures. What you see on the outside usually hints at what's inside.

How the Visit Goes

  1. 1

We set up and protect the area

We lay drop cloths below the panel and clear a safe work zone. Indoors, we cover the floor along our path.

  2. 2

    We power down with notice

We tell you before the power goes off and roughly how long it will stay off. Plan for your home to be without power for part of the visit, so a quick heads-up to anyone working from home helps.

  3. 3

    We tighten, vacuum and inspect

Each connection gets torqued to spec, the enclosure gets vacuumed and wiped, and we photograph anything that looks off. If the service lugs need attention, we coordinate with your utility as required.

  4. 4

    We restore power and test

We turn circuits back on one at a time and confirm everything comes back as it should. Clocks and some electronics may need resetting.

  5. 5

    We tidy up and review

Drop cloths come up, debris leaves with us, and the cover goes back on straight. Then we go over our findings with you.

What Affects the Price of Panel Maintenance

A torque and clean is usually a straightforward visit. How long it takes depends mostly on how much equipment your home has and what we find once the cover comes off. Any repair we spot gets explained and quoted on its own, and whether it goes ahead is entirely your call.

How many panels you have
A main panel plus a subpanel in the garage or a detached shop means more terminations to torque and inspect, which adds time to the visit.
Where the panel sits
Shelving, stored boxes or a cramped closet in front of the panel means more setup before we can work. Exterior panels that face the weather tend to collect more dirt.
What's inside
Thick dust, old nests or corrosion take longer to clear out. A crowded enclosure packed with breakers and conductors also slows the work.
Repairs we turn up
Swapping a heat-damaged breaker or correcting a double tap is extra work. We price it first and wait for your yes.

Torque and Clean Questions

Something not covered here? (682) 281-9399

How often should my panel be serviced?

For most homes, every few years is reasonable. Older panels, outdoor panels and homes with heavy loads like a pool pump or a shop may benefit from more frequent checks. We'll tell you what makes sense after we see yours.

Will my power be off the whole time?

No. The power is off only while we work inside the panel, and we let you know before we shut it down. Most of the visit is setup, inspection and review.

Who does the work?

We hold a Master Electrical License and work as a licensed electrical contractor, TECL 36609. Work inside a panel is not something to hand off to a general handyman.

Does the work come with a warranty?

It does. This service is backed by our 1-year workmanship warranty. If something about the work we did isn't right during that year, give us a call and we'll look into it.

What if you find a bigger problem?

We stop, show you photos and explain it in plain terms. If it calls for electrical repair or a panel upgrade, we give you the options and the cost, and nothing goes ahead without your OK.

Will you leave dust in my garage?

No. Drop cloths go down first, we vacuum instead of blowing debris around, and we carry everything out with us. The space around your panel should look like it did when we arrived, minus the grime.
