Home Battery Backup Systems in Cleburne
When the grid drops, a home battery takes over the circuits that matter most to you: the refrigerator, a few lights, the router, maybe a well pump. It runs with no fuel and no engine noise. We help you choose what to back up, install it to code and tidy up as we work.

Quiet Power for the Things You Can't Go Without
A battery backup system banks energy while the power is on. The moment the utility feed fails, it cuts your home off from the grid and starts supplying your chosen circuits by itself. Most homeowners don't need every circuit live. They want the refrigerator, a few lights, the Wi-Fi, a medical device, maybe the well pump, kept running until the power comes back.
Our job is to match the battery to those needs, connect it safely to your panel, and make sure it can never send power back onto the utility lines. We set it up so you understand what stays on, what turns off, and how long the battery should last.
Battery work often means drilling, running conduit along a garage wall and opening up the panel. We cover floors and nearby belongings, vacuum up drilling dust before we leave each day, and haul away every box and scrap of packaging.
What a Battery Backup Installation Includes
A load review of your home
We look at your panel and talk through what you want running during an outage. That tells us how much storage and output you actually need, so you aren't sold more battery than your home uses.
A backed-up loads panel or smart load control
For partial backup, we move the chosen circuits to a dedicated subpanel the battery feeds. For larger systems, load management can shed big appliances automatically so the battery isn't drained in an hour.
Safe grid isolation
The system includes the switching equipment that disconnects your home from the utility during an outage. That protects line workers and keeps the battery from trying to power the whole street.
Mounting and conduit runs
We place the battery where the manufacturer's clearance and temperature requirements are met, usually a garage wall or an exterior wall. Conduit is run neatly and secured, not left dangling.
Permit, inspection and utility paperwork
Filing the permit is part of our job, not yours. We book whatever inspection the local jurisdiction calls for and take care of any utility forms that apply.
A walkthrough before we leave
We show you the app or display, test a simulated outage with you, and explain what to expect the first time the grid actually goes down.
Signs a Home Battery Could Help You
Outages keep costing you food
If a few hours without power means tossing groceries, backing up the fridge and freezer circuit alone can pay off in comfort quickly.
A family member uses a powered medical device
Breathing machines and similar equipment can't simply wait out a long outage. The battery picks up the load quickly enough that most devices keep going without a restart.
You work from home
Keeping the router, modem and a couple of outlets live means a storm doesn't have to end your workday.
You'd rather skip fuel and engine noise
A battery has no gas to store, no oil to change and no running engine. If you've considered a generator but don't like the upkeep, a battery is worth comparing.
Your home is on a well
Without power, a well pump stops and so does running water. Putting the pump on backup keeps taps and toilets working.
How Your Installation Goes
- 1
Service visit and panel check
We look over your panel, measure where the battery and conduit would go, and listen to what you want backed up. If the panel is full or worn, we'll tell you plainly and explain whether a panel upgrade should come first.
- 2
Written plan and permit
You get a written scope listing the equipment, which circuits will be backed up, and the work involved. Once you approve it, we file the permit.
- 3
Installation day
We lay floor protection along our path, shut off power for as short a window as we can, and let you know before it goes off. Most of the day is mounting, conduit and panel work, and we clean the work area before we leave.
- 4
Inspection, testing and handoff
After the inspection passes, we commission the battery, run an outage test with you watching, and walk you through the controls.
What Shapes the Cost of Battery Backup
Battery systems vary more than most electrical jobs, so we price each one after seeing your home. Your written estimate breaks out equipment and labor so you can see where the money goes.
- Storage capacity
- More kilowatt-hours means longer runtime and a higher equipment cost. One battery may cover essentials; running more for longer can mean two or more units.
- How much of your home you back up
- A few key circuits on a subpanel costs less than whole-home backup that needs higher output and load management for central air or an electric range.
- Your panel's condition
- An older or full panel may need replacement or added space before a battery can connect safely.
- Distance and mounting location
- A battery right beside the panel needs less conduit and wall work than one placed across the garage or on another wall.
- Permits and utility requirements
- Permit fees and any utility paperwork vary by where you live, and we include them in the estimate rather than adding them later.
Battery Backup Questions We Hear Often
Something not covered here? (682) 281-9399
How long will a battery run my home during an outage?
It depends on the battery size and what's turned on. Essentials like a fridge, lights and internet can run for many hours, sometimes a full day or more. Central air draws far more power and shortens that time a lot. We'll give you a realistic estimate based on your actual circuits.
Is a battery a better fit than a generator for my home?
Each one suits a different need. A battery runs silently, burns nothing and takes over within moments, but it only holds so much stored energy. A generator keeps going as long as its fuel lasts, which counts during multi-day outages in Texas summer heat. We install both, so we can compare them for your home at the visit, and our Generator Installation page covers that side.
Who does the work, and what credentials do you hold?
Battery installs are carried out under our Master Electrical License. Our state contractor registration is TECL 36609, so you can look us up as a licensed electrical contractor before we ever set foot in your garage. We also file the permit and arrange the inspection your local jurisdiction requires.
Will the install make a mess of my garage?
We cover the floor and anything stored near the work area before we start drilling. Dust is vacuumed up as we go, and packaging, wire scraps and old parts leave with us. Your garage should look the way you left it, plus a battery on the wall.
What warranty comes with the installation?
Our installation work carries a 1-year workmanship warranty. The battery and inverter come with the manufacturer's own coverage, and we'll help you register it so it's on file.
Keep the Lights On Next Time the Grid Drops
We'll look at your panel, talk through what matters most to you during an outage, and give you a written plan for the system that fits.
