EV Charger Installation in Cleburne

Your Level 2 charger gets its own circuit, matched to your car and your panel. Before drilling, we check your electrical load, cover the floor and map a tidy wire path. When we pack up, the charger is live and your garage is back in order.

Home Charging That Fits Your Car and Your Panel

Plugging into an ordinary wall outlet tops up the battery slowly, often not enough after a long commute. A Level 2 charger uses 240 volts and can typically replace a day's driving while you sleep. It calls for its own breaker, properly sized wire and tight connections at both ends, which makes it a job for an electrician rather than an extension cord.

Our work is done under a Master Electrical License, and we are a licensed electrical contractor, TECL 36609. That matters for EV charging because the job draws more continuous power than almost anything else in your home, and the circuit has to be built for hours of steady use.

We also treat your garage like a room in your house. Drop cloths go down before tools come out, drywall dust gets vacuumed as we go, and the charger box and packaging leave with us.

What Your Charger Installation Includes

  1. 01

    Load calculation

We add up what your panel already carries, including your AC, range and dryer, to confirm there is room for a charger. If there isn't, we tell you plainly and explain the options.

  2. 02

    Dedicated circuit and breaker

Your charger gets its own breaker and copper wire matched to its amperage. Nothing else shares the circuit.

  3. 03

    Neat wire routing

We run wire through walls or the attic where we can, and use tidy, strapped conduit where we can't. Holes are sealed and cut openings are kept as small as possible.

  4. 04

    Wired-in charger or 240-volt receptacle

Already own a wall charger? We connect it straight to the new circuit. If you'd rather use a portable plug-in unit, we set a heavy-duty 14-50 receptacle for it instead. Either way, it is mounted level and at a height that suits where you park.

  5. 05

    Permit and inspection

The permit paperwork is ours to file. Once the circuit is in, we book the inspector as your local jurisdiction requires and coordinate with your utility if that step applies.

  6. 06

    Daily cleanup

Floors covered during work, dust vacuumed, debris and packaging hauled away. Your car can pull back in the same evening.

Signs It's Time for a Home Charger

  • Overnight charging falls short

If a regular outlet can't get you back to a full battery by morning, a Level 2 circuit usually solves it.

  • An EV is on the way

Installing before delivery means you can charge properly from the first night. Calling early also gives time for any permit steps.

  • You're using an extension cord

Extension cords aren't made for hours of heavy draw and can overheat. A properly wired outlet or charger removes that risk.

  • The outlet or plug feels warm

Heat at the plug points to a loose connection or undersized wiring. Stop charging there and have it checked.

  • A breaker trips during charging

That usually means the circuit is shared or overloaded. Our electrical repair work can sort out the cause, and a dedicated charger circuit often prevents it.

How Your Install Goes

  1. 1

    Phone call and service visit

You tell us about your car, your charger and where you park. We book a visit to look at your panel and the route to your parking spot.

  2. 2

    Written plan and price

We explain the wire route, breaker size and any panel concerns, then give you the cost in writing before work starts.

  3. 3

    Install day

We protect the floor and walls, run the circuit, mount the charger and test it under load with your car if it's home. Most single-charger installs finish in a day.

  4. 4

    Inspection and walkthrough

After the inspection, we show you the breaker, how to reset it and any charger settings worth knowing. The garage is swept and the trash is gone.

What Affects the Cost of a Charger Install

Every garage and panel is different, so we price your job after seeing it. These are the things that move the number most. You'll know all of them before we start.

Distance to your parking spot
A charger on the wall right behind the panel needs little wire. A spot across the garage or out on the driveway needs a longer run and more conduit.
Panel capacity
If your panel is full or near its limit, extra equipment or a panel upgrade may be needed before a charger can be added safely.
Charger amperage
Higher-amp chargers need heavier wire and a larger breaker, which affects material cost.
Indoor or outdoor mounting
Outdoor installs need weather-rated equipment and fittings. In Texas summers, we also plan wire runs through hot attics so the wire is sized correctly for the heat.
Permit requirements
Permit and inspection fees depend on your local jurisdiction, and we include them in your written price.

EV Charger Questions

Can you install an EV charger in my garage?

Yes, the garage is the most common spot. We look at where you park, which side your charge port is on and how far the panel is, then mount the charger where the cable reaches without stretching across the floor.

Will my panel handle a charger?

Many can, but we check before promising anything. We run a load calculation on your visit. If the numbers come up short, we lay out the two usual paths, a device that manages how the charger shares capacity or a new, larger panel, and tell you honestly which one suits your home and budget.

Should I get a hardwired charger or a plug-in outlet?

Both work well when wired correctly. Hardwired units can often charge at a higher rate and have no plug to wear out. A 14-50 outlet lets you take a portable charger with you if you move. We'll walk through what fits your car and habits.

Do you pull the permit?

Yes. Filing the permit and lining up the inspection are part of our job, following whatever your local jurisdiction requires. The paperwork stays on our desk, not yours.

How messy is the install?

Less than you'd expect. We lay drop cloths, vacuum dust as we cut, patch where we can and take every scrap and box with us. Most people can park inside again that night.

Is the work covered by a warranty?

Yes, our installation comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty. The charger hardware falls under whatever coverage its maker offers.
